“High Quality and Timely Performance”
Dr. Pirio and Empowering Communications team provided us at the American Red Cross international services communications division with exactly what we needed, on time, for an upcoming high level observation trip to countries in Africa recovering from conflict. Empowering Communications delivered the media outreach tools that the delegation needed and arranged for meetings with the local press. Dr. Pirio provided these services at a time when we were under intense pressure from multiple commitments. Knowing that we could count on high quality and timely performance from the Empowering Communications team helped to set us at ease while accomplishing our demanding objectives.
Dr. Pirio and his Empowering Communication Team developed original programming for Worldspace and advised on implementation of communication strategies. Dr. Pirio and his Team were responsible for establishing learning and continuing education program for health care practitioners, journalists and teachers in developing countries, using Worldspace digital satellite technology. Negotiated with African governments, including Kenya and Uganda, for adoption of the distance learning platform.
Lobbied Capitol Hill for legislative support for initiative, and conducted high level negotiations within the U.S. Administration including the Global HIV/AIDS Coordinator. Dr. Pirio’s skills and expertise was critical to our success in establishing an educational content distribution throughout Kenya and subsequently to other countries. Dr. Pirio and his team provided much needed knowledge at local levels; reaching millions of underserved populations. We appreciated Dr. Pirio’s implacable ethical values in dealing with us and the populations we served.
