Hausa Language Broadcasts

Gregory Pirio was the architect of the plan to use the Hausa Broadcasts of the Voice of America to reach millions of Nigerians with news and information vital to their health and well-being. Through a partnership between USAID and VOA, the project has sought to reach the more than 13 million Nigerians who regularly listened to these broadcasts with news and information on health and healthy lifestyles. The service was an important sources of information on issues such
as HIV/AIDS, Child Survival including Polio vaccination, TB, Malaria and Reproductive Health.
