Empowering Communications pioneered ACME-IT in four hospitals in Western Province, Kenya in partnership with PATH Kenya and the Kenya's Division of Leprosy, TB and Lung Disease. ACME-IT has brought a high quality synchronous and interactive Continuing Medical Education to groups of health care professionals gathered in learning centers at hospitals in remote areas. Follow-on research demonstrates that it is no longer justifiable to accept a lower standard of education and knowledge base for health care workers in low and middle income countries, especially for those servicing rural communities.
